My research interest focuses on the investigation of phenotypic traits allowing species to cope with ecological challenges posed by the environment they inhabit and on the role that new selective pressures, such as invasive species and habitat changes, have in shaping these traits. Behavioural ecology is my main field of investigation, and particularly I am interested in prey-predator interactions in and traits allowing adaptation to new environments. Among target taxa my main area of expertise regards the ecology of amphibians and reptiles (mainly lizards), but I also deal with invertebrates, such as flatworms, insects and crustaceans, and I often collaborate with projects focusing on cave fauna.
